A Growing Obsession

It's Saturday and it's also my brother's 22nd Birthday. So that's already two reasons to celebrate and to smell like tomato sauce and beef. I just came out of the kitchen after making macaroni for m brother's Birthday dinner tonight. After I finish this post, I'll head back to the kitchen, use Mario Batali's bechamel sauce recipe and pop the macaroni in the oven. I hope it turns as good as it did the last time. Most people would be surprised to know that I obsess about cooking and baking as much as I obsess on all the other things I have been yapping about in this blog o' mine. And speaking of obsessions, allow me to introduce you to a new friend of mine, and soon-to-be BFF!

Make-up and applying it on my face.

This one's courtesy of my bestfriend, Mizzy. She has all of these amazing equipment whereas I am stuck with my sister's hand-me-downs. It was to my mother's surprise when I told her that I discovered a fascination for make-up and I told her that I want all of hers. Well, the ones she doesn't want to use anyway. I seriously have to invest in buying stuff for my face! All I have in my everyday kit's a concealer and sharpener from BodyShop, a lip and cheek tint from FaceShop and my trusty liquid eyeliner from Kate. I used to think that liquid eyeliners were easy to apply until I tried on an old brown pencil eyeliner. ZOMGGG. Sooooo much easier. I don't even. Right after church tomorrow, my brother and I are heading to the mall. Teehee.

That izzz all.

Of New Things To Discuss

1) I got a new pair of shoesies from my seester! Well, they're hand-me-downs and a size smaller than my feet but beggars can't be choosers, as I would always say.
2) I am a beggar.
3) I am battling against my grade and weight issues. I want to eat Finals away. Which is very ironic.
4) My fascination for make-up has sky-rocketed.
5) I have decided to buy more make-up.
6) The world, as we know it, is very depressing. We should really start thinking about it.
7) On second thought, we shouldn't. I don't want any more depressed people in the world.
8) I need shoes to kick me out of this post-fat, post-midterms depression.

Of obsession and more.

Anywaysies, that's all that has been going on in my end!

Out With The Old and In With The Black.

Today was the day I have been dreading for almost an entire month now. Our college yearbook pictorials are coming up next week and I have decided to go for something timeless. Being purely Asian, what timeless to me was looking the same from 0-19yrs old. A lot has changed over the years thanks to my utter fascination with hair dye which started right after high school due to sheer curiosity. I experimented with hair dye and the conclusion turned out to be very pleasing. I have not stopped dyeing it brown, all shades of it, ever since. Today unfortunately had to come. I made myself a promise that I would dye my hair back to its original color in time for the yearbook pictorials. Well, I have no sense of pride in saying this but I am back to black. I am now donning a Wednesday Adams hue on my head and I don't know how I exactly feel about it. I don't hate it but neither do I love it.

I guess the issue doesn't really lie in the hair color which I have consciously chosen. I swore to myself at the salon this afternoon that I would not flip-out (again) over the trim my hairdresser gave me.
(long, deep breaths)

I hate my hair's new length. It's SHORT and it's black and I wanna cry. It'll take me 4months to grow it back to its previous length. I have never been this eager about Christmas before.

This was my happy self before. Oh, how brown, how long and how wavy.

A photograph I took of me 5minutes ago. Yes, the objective was to scare you. Well, it worked!

Good night, reader. I think I'm going to watch SATC2 and wallow in sadness and regret tonight.

It's Almost Like Winning The Science Fair

I've been blog-hopping ever since I began this blog and it always got me so jealous over posts that have HUGE pictures in them. I kept wondering why all my photos are tiny. So doing what I do best, I Googled and Googled until I found answers. I experimented with my blog's layouts, not copying the original codes without any fear of messing it up. Apparently I just had to tweak some digits. Thank goodness I'm no technomoron.

Here's a sample upload. Looks much better, does it not?

Expect HUGE picture posts next time!

Greetings From The Closet

So I was cleaning out my closet, right? I discovered a pile of stuff I have never worn before. Most of them still had tags attached. It got me really frustrated because who's dumb enough to spend money on clothes and shoes and never wear them, right? So I made a vow last night forged by the burning desire to leave no clothes unworn and heels unclicked!

I recycled a Gucci box (came with my sister's shades) to store my tag collection. I never really cut out the tags of clothes/shoes that I buy until I use them. Explains why I accidentally wear clothes that still have tags on them 4/10 times. Is that gross?

These are some of my new and unused clothes. The liquid leggings you spot are reserved for WHEN I watch The Killers in concert. Yes, Brandon Flowers is coming back to sing for me. The rest are sporadic online purchases from Forever 21, others are from Zara. Oh! And the cheetah print you see is a thrifted skirt. I just have to get it adjusted and it is on!

TADA! I was just hallucinating about getting metallic oxford lace-ups a month ago and now, here they are! Story behind these shoes is that our friend intentionally bought these for herself. Apparently, the shoes ran out in her size thus opting for a size smaller (6in) under the impression that they fit comfortably. Needless to say, she was wrong. She came over the house one day and told me she had a pair of Oxfords sitting in her car. Sold! :) I'm debuting the pair on Wednesday in school. Excitement!

These are Forever 21 booties my sister Ivy gave me last Christmas. Well, she didn't have any plans on giving me the shoesies but I thank the stars for aligning that I have the universal shoe-size, 6! The booties were too big for her and voila! MINE. Problem is, I have no idea when to wear them. Hmmm. I'll keep you all posted.

Lastly! I finally own a pair of Alibaba/MC Hammer/Harem trousers! My sister and I went around the mall a week ago with no particular conquest in mind. We bumped into this and she immediately bought us each a pair. It's easily become one of my most favorite things in my closet. I am very excited to wear them!

Below proves a growing obsession.

I found these online at Forever 21. I should really remove it as a bookmarked page. I found a similar pair at Mango but I'm in a state of stingy-ness. The trousers at MNG were on sale but it still felt a bit heavy for me to purchase as I just bought new shoes. Dilemma!

It's almost 1am here on my end. I'm exhausted from dreaming about wearing all these and buying more.

Clothes and shoes are the bestest friends you'll ever have.

xx

A Girl Can't Not Talk About SATC

Like the usual, I spent my Saturday night at home. This time, I was watching Sex and The City re-runs while I was attempting to restore my room to its past grandeur and pleasantness before my sister rummaged everything from the bed to the closets and basically every other space inside. I didn't even pay mind to Carrie's constant yapping about men and New York and sex (in that order). I was just staring at their 80's and 90's outfits while I folded clothes and arranged shoes back to the cabinets. I just fell in love all over again with Patricia Field. Forget the tacky way she wears her fabulous red hair and the way she projects herself as the senior Courtney Love. She's pure genius.

Let's not forget the fortunate mortals she gifts her genius with:

How did it go from this to

this?

Fabbity-fab-fab! I wanna be best friends with all five of them!

On a personal note, throughout the years of watching Sex and The City (would you believe I began watching at the age of 11?), I have found to like Samantha's looks more than Carrie's. I always was a Carrie fan but as I watched the earlier seasons of the show last night, Samantha rocked the 80's and 90's. I guess it's got to do with her frame? The 80's Carrie was a letdown but she still definitely causes me shoe-nightmares from time to time.

Chillaxing Under The Clouds

Just three girls and an entire beach resort on a cloudy Thursday. (Skipping Japanese class has never been more worth it)

Wearing my Forever 21 tube top, shorts from American Eagle, Mango Shades and the hat's borrowed from my sister.

It's always been a habit of mine to collect seashells by the seashore. haha!

With my seeester Dang. <3>

Wearing one of my favorite white tops from Zara.

Halo-halo (a famous Filipino dessert(?)) to end the perfect afternoon.

Sister Time Etc

I have finally had the time to transfer photos to the computer. Here are some overdue pictures beginning last week.

This was taken at my sister's favorite coffee shop, Coffee Cat. We tried very hard to not appear faking the laughter when this shot was taken.
L-R: Dang (my sister), Ronna, Eshma, I, Satsuki, Kryzl

Just me and my sister this time taken at Selera when we hung out with some of our friends.

You could probably hint on what we were talking about. Mima, Dang and I.

We didn't have a lot of photos together. Thankfully I realized that as soon as now. Will post more soon. :)

I'm Alive Still

I'm just here to rant about how busy I am. I seriously CANNOT WAIT for this week to be over. Why? For starters, the weekends that I have been spending doing school-related activities are not fun anymore. I don't know why. I used to keep begging nature to take its course on giving me something to do. I just didn't expect it to hand it all down at one time.

Tomorrow's a Monday that means I have 2 quizzes to prepare for (YAY :|) and 2 meetings to attend to. The first one's for our IS org and the other one's with my debate teammates. Like that will seriously happen. I used to be so competitive but now that I think about it, I just plan on winging it. I am voluntarily removing pressure on myself of winning, which mind you, is a first. HAHAY! That's a Tagalog colloquial term for breathing out loudly expressing dismay or exhaustion. Wow. Did I seriously just translate a sound into English? It seems like I am getting better at this.

Just to rant some more, I hate my Theology immersion. I hate that it's on a Sunday and that there is one more Sunday left before I can finally enjoy a REAL 2-day weekend.

I'ma go study now.. and then swallow 10 valiums so I may journey to a deep and much deserved sleep.

xx, Ina

I'm so busy that I wanna pull off a Britney.

Hey, ho! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Just an update of this week's uneventfulness in my life:

1) I got three new pairs of shoesies and one of which I wished for like a month ago. Can you guess?
2) I got a bujillion of new clothes from my sister. 25% of it are hand-me-downs which are awesome!
3) The operation lose-4-lbs is NOT going very well.
4) I watched Salt last night. Speechless. That's two good movies within the span of two weeks (Inception last week). I am more in love with Angelina Jolie now. I wonder if it's not yet too late to decide to become a CIA agent.
5) (drumming fingers on the table)........

Wow. That was all of it. School was school. Same people in the same dull, white uniform.

This just in. I was going to clear my bed and take photos of the stuff I got but then I remembered that I have to contribute to the Japanese dialogue for tomorrow. I know, right. Jap.

Good night, I guess. :|
